PhD Program Milestones
Part-time Doctoral Studies can be divided into three stages which correspond to successive doctoral studies.
To pass every year of the studies, students are required to:
- obtain a positive evaluation from the scientific coordinator for their scientific work and to present required scientific publications,
- obtain the formal approval of the proposed doctoral research before the end of the second year,
- pass all mandatory subjects – in accordance with the plan of studies,
- pass optional subjects to a total number of ECTS credits not lower than the that provided in the plan of studies.
During the third year of studies, doctoral students should pass all the required doctoral exams.
Formal approval of proposed doctoral research
In order to obtain the formal approval of the proposed doctoral research, students must have two publications in national (or foreign) journals with Impact Factor (IF).
Upon the formal approval of the proposed doctoral research, the title of the doctoral thesis, suggested supervisor and suggested subjects of doctoral exams are to be provided.
The Faculty Council approves the subject of the doctoral thesis, supervisor and doctoral committee.
After the formal approval of the proposed doctoral research has been granted, the supervisor determines the subject of the final major exam, selected from subjects approved by the Faculty Council. The Dean of the Faculty, after the formal approval of the proposed doctoral research has been granted, approves the dates of the doctoral exams.
